LAHORE: National Transmission and Despatch Company Limited (NTDCL) on Thursday signed energy purchase agreements with three wind power producers with a cumulative capacity of 129.5 megawatts and their lenders, said a statement.
The producers include Tapal Wind Energy Private Limited (30MW), Master Wind Energy Limited (49.5MW) and Gul Ahmed Wind Power Limited (50MW), according to the statement.
The NTDCL MD, who is also general manager at Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA), signed these agreements after approval by the companys board of directors. The spokesman NTDCL said these wind power plants will be installed at Jhimpir, district Thatta, and will likely start operation by the end of 2016.
The financial closures are likely till March 31, 2015, he said. Chief Engineer CPPA Mansoor Nasir, CEO Tapal Energy Adnan Tapal, Project Director Master Energy Brig Tariq Izaz, CEO Gull Ahmad Wind Energy Danish Iqbal and others were also present on this occasion.
